Description
A virtual reality simulation that helps secondary school students understand and practise volumetric analysis in chemistry.
Many schools in Tanzania do not have a working laboratory, or cannot afford to let every student handle real reagents. This gives them a safe, repeatable, hands-on alternative — students can pour, titrate and make mistakes without cost or risk.
Behind the scene
As project lead I worked with two university colleagues, Beatrice Mike (opens in a new tab) and Edgar Gulay (opens in a new tab), building this as our final year research project.
I modelled the 3D environment of the chemistry laboratory and developed the simulation in Unity for the first MVP. For the second version I worked with Bernard Masika (opens in a new tab) to improve the simulation based on user feedback and performance testing.
